See it to Be it Career Art Workshops
We are excited to offer a brand new programme of FREE Careers in the Arts workshops for KS1 and KS2 pupils for West Cumbrian primary schools. These sessions are designed to raise aspirations, develop confidence and oracy, and help children understand how creativity and storytelling connect to real careers.
The workshops are led by experienced artists and creative professionals and combine hands-on creative activities with insight into working life in the arts, media and creative industries.
Examples of sessions available include:

Drawing a ‘story map’ – KS1 & KS2 – drawing visual story maps, developing listening skills and confidently retelling stories together

KS1: Real Life Stories – Turning Memories into Magic

KS2: Your Life, Your Story – Writing About True Events turning memories into stories and exploring life as a writer

Music & Creative Careers – interactive music workshops with West Cumbrian musicians, exploring how music can inspire creativity and positive change
-
A Day in the Life of a Musician – live performance, group singing and discussion about careers in music and wellbeing
-
Puppetry & Performance – creating shadow puppets and bringing stories to life through drama and play
-
Storymakers – collaborative story creation using objects, sound, images and imagination
-
Television Production – pupils take on real TV roles such as directing, sound, costume and lighting

Game Design & Creative Technology – team-based storytelling and paper prototype game design

Creative Map-Making – hands-on art, printing and 3D map design linking Art, Geography, Maths and DT

All sessions are fully supported and organised to minimise staff workload.
