Elephant Toothpaste – Using Science to wow the crowd, the class get to create a giant foaming reaction. With just a few ingredients you can make something that looks like foamy toothpaste being squeezed from a tube, but so big that it looks almost fit for an elephant!

Smart Medicine – The most common type of medicine is taken in the form of a pill.  But when you take any type of medicine, it’s important that the drug is released at the right time in the right part of the body.   If the active ingredient – the bit that makes you feel better – is released too early it will dissolve before it gets to the right location.  But, if it is released to late, it could pass out your system. It is therefore extremely important that when one of our patients takes a product the desired effects are achieved. During this exercise you will be working together as part of a team to develop a new ‘smart’ medicine.
