Rockpool ramble – Cumbria Wildlife Trust

Join Cumbria Wildlife Trust for an adventure into the (fairly shallow) depths of Parton’s rockpools.

Date: Monday 24 July 2023
Time: 10:00am – 1:00pm
Cost: Free
Organiser: Cumbria Wildlife Trust
Where: Parton Beach. Please note: the event takes place over rough and slippy terrain.

About the event
Join Cumbria Wildlife Trust for an adventure into the (fairly shallow) depths of Parton’s rockpools, and help look for crabs, anemones, starfish, seaweeds, and all kinds of coastal critters who call this area their home.

The event will start with a briefing at the meeting point, before moving together over the rocky shore to a large outcrop on Tanyard Beach, where we find lots of interesting rockpools full of marine life! We’ll spend around 2 hours searching the shore and sharing what we find, before regrouping to share what we’ve found.

Children of all ages are welcome provided they are supervised at all times by a parent or guardian.

No prior knowledge of marine life needed- we’ll bring everything you need!

See you on the shore!

This event is free because it is funded by the My Local Catch project. However, donations are welcome.
