SUPPORTING CAREER RELATED LEARNING TO ALL PRIMARY SCHOOLS IN WEST CUMBRIA

TAKE PART IN OUR FANTASTIC COMPETITION TO WIN BOOK BAGS KINDLY DONATED BY HILLS BOOKS AND SIGNED COPIES OF CHILDREN’S BOOKS FROM LOCAL AUTHORS.

PBP have teamed up with National Careers week to support the ‘What’s Your Story’ resource as part of National Careers week 2021.

World Book Day is on 4th March so why not get your pupils/children to dress up as their favourite character and using this fantastic resource take part in our competition by firstly taking a look at the link below-

  • Write a short story (no more than 500 words) about your own superhero who have helped during the COVID-19 pandemic – KS1 /KS2
  • Design your own book cover – EYFS, KS1 & KS2

Send entries to info@pbp.org.uk for a chance to win a goody bag kindly donated from Hills Books or signed copies of children’s books.

Along with your Name, School and Age.

In addition, we have been in touch with local volunteers who work with books, find out what it means to be an Illustrator, an Author, Editor, Designer, work in a book shop, a library, and other associated jobs.  Our volunteers have shared their stories, so find out what they wanted to be when they were in primary school and how they got to do their dream job.  You might even pick up some hints and tips.

Howard & Emily – Books & Resources to promote kindness & friendship.

The linked activities are aimed at KS1 & 2 and can be adapted by the
teacher / parent to suit age and ability. They have been designed so that
you do not need to have read the books to complete the activities.

The resources are stand alone and FREE but if you are interested in working through them with the books, they are currently on sale at £5 each with 10% of cover price being donated to HUG A MUG in Maryport (Hugs) and Hospice at Home West Cumbria (Holiday).
