Lockdown Gardening Competition – Now extended to 30th June!
We know many of you have been busy over this lockdown period and we wanted to celebrate some of the things you might have grown.
Inspired by National Children’s Gardening week, the great news that the National Trust parks and gardens and also more local garden centres have started to re-open, this Gardening Competition runs from the 9th June 2020 to 30th June 2020.
If you attend a school in Allerdale or Copeland ‘Show us what you’ve grown’ and you might be in with a chance of winning prizes including a £50 voucher for the winning entries school, and £20 Amazon voucher for the winning child.
What you need to do
- Submit a picture of yourself and what you’ve grown or are growing during lockdown.
- Explain in no more than 50 words what you’ve grown, why you are growing it and what new skills you’ve learnt.
- Remember to include your Name, Age and the Name of your School.

The Lakes Home Centre and Listers furniture store is now open. Customer safety is paramount and we have ensured that we are complying with current regulations. Our shop is big and airy and we have directional arrows in store, we are only allowing 20 customers in at a time so you will not be over-crowded and can maintain a safe distance apart from other customers. We are open every day; Monday to Saturday from 9:30am to 5:30pm and 10:30am to 4:30pm on Sundays. We still have a fantastic range of plants, gardening and DIY goods, plus tons of lovely cookware and home ware items. Upstairs we have our sofas, beds, dining furniture, made to measure curtains and flooring.
