After the success of Science Farm LIVE 2023, NFU Education are inviting you to join us again to celebrate British Science Week AND National Careers Week with three new, free, live and curriculum-aligned digital work experience sessions!
This year, NFU Education are inviting you to step into the boots of a farmer and a farm vet to discover how they spend their days; explore key STEM topics in a real-life context and gain first-hand experience of the world of work.
Key Stage 1 will be spending the morning with Farmer Fiona to learn how she cares for her animals and even how she grows their food!
And Key Stage 2 will be spending a whole day on call with Dr Claire the farm vet! You’ll be carrying out a cow’s teeth inspection in the morning before heading out on a poo walk to hunt for the invertebrates that are an essential part of a farm’s ecosystem.
In the afternoon, you’ll be scanning some cows to see if they are pregnant; learning how farmers care for their cows’ hooves; hoping to catch a live calving and responding to the emergencies that Dr Claire gets called out to.
And that’s not all! There will be plenty of opportunities for your students to send in their questions or share their ideas. Farmer Fiona and Dr Claire will also be setting lots of extra challenges to complete before, during and after the sessions so that your students can be truly immersed in the world of work all day long!
