NEW | Book Your Creative Curriculum Workshops for Outdoor Classroom Day
📅 Outdoor Classroom Day – 21 May 2026
As part of the National Literacy Trust’s Outdoor Classroom Day, CACN are excited to offer a range of inspiring, curriculum‑linked creative workshops through our See it to Be itprogramme — designed to take literacy learning outdoors.
The Outdoor Classroom Day encourages schools across the UK to step outside and celebrate reading, writing, speaking and listening in fresh, imaginative ways. Our creative, outdoor‑friendly workshops are a perfect fit, helping pupils connect literacy to creativity, place and play.
Cumbria Arts & Culture Network are offering activities including: Storytelling, dance, game design & Writing in Nature, each session is delivered by a local creative professional who brings real‑world experience directly to your pupils. Activities can be adapted for playgrounds, school grounds or nearby outdoor spaces, giving children the chance to let their ideas flow while learning in the open air.
These workshops are designed to:
- Celebrate literacy in the outdoors
- Spark curiosity and imagination
- Build confidence in communication and creative expression
- Raise aspirations by introducing pupils to creative careers right here in Cumbria
