SUPPORTING CAREER RELATED LEARNING TO ALL PRIMARY SCHOOLS IN WEST CUMBRIA

NATIONAL CAREERS WEEK 1st – 6th MARCH

It’s nearly National Career Week and for the first time it is linking in to World Book Day with a fantastic new primary resource ‘What’s Your Story?’

National Careers Week (NCW) is a celebration of careers information and free resources in education across the UK.

Hear directly from Andrew Bernard, Enterprise Director for National Careers Week on the videos at the bottom of this post.

To celebrate both National Careers Week and World Book Day, Primary Business Partnership has worked together with volunteers, organisations and businesses and have pulled some really great resources together to make it a fun week for all involved. What better way to start exploring the World of Work and raising the aspirations of our children.

National Careers Week – What’s Your Story?

This year National Careers Week have linked in with World Book Day and have launched a ‘What’s Your Story’ resource for primary schools.  They look at lots of exciting jobs in publishing and what skills are required.

What’s your Story Competition

PBP have teamed up with NCW to support What’s Your Story.  Enter our competition using the resource and you could win a goody bag of books kindly donated by Hills Books and signed copies of children’s books from local authors.

Free Career cards and videos

PBP have been in touch with volunteers who work with books, find out what it means to be an Illustrator, an Author, Editor, Designer, work in a book shop, a library, and other associated jobs. You might even pick up some hints and tips for entering the competition.
