Practical Action is an international development organisation working with people in poverty to change their world.
Practical Action have pulled together their top learning at home resources they hope will inspire you and your children during the lockdown period. Each activity links to areas of the formal curriculum in the UK and gives your children the opportunity to learn about real world issues.
The activities are designed for 5-19 yr olds. Some examples of activities are below.
- Regreen the desert – an exciting NEW STEM challenge suitable for pupils aged 8-16 years.
- A renewable energy STEM challenge where pupils learn about life without electricity before designing and making a simple wind turbine suitable for pupils.
- Pupils look at flooding around the world then design and build a model of a flood-proof house
