Kool Covid Kids Book

Has the past year been a ‘GAP YEAR’ that none of our children asked for but turned out to be the most productive of their young lives?

Kool COVID Kids is a book that should inspire each and every one of us! It’s inspired by a group of 13yr old Whitehaven girls, known locally as the ‘Girls Gang’ who have seen the pandemic as an incredibly positive opportunity to review their young lives and become more socially and community aware of the world they live in. They have dreamt of a better life, a more productive environment for themselves and their communities and are now in the process of making that dream come true.

Where most of the nation saw the pandemic as darkest of storm clouds they found rainbows. Where the nation was plunged into fear they found hope and inspiration. Where many of their peers were challenged mentally, they found resilience and fortitude and where COVID challenged our very existence they found ways to improve it.

Through the profit from the sales of the book, they hope to raise sufficient funds to support and inspire the next generation of social scientists and community entrepreneurs. The girls aim to support projects that will have a positive impact on their local schools and communities for years to come.

The book is priced at £12.99 and can be purchased online from the Kool COVID Kids website which will be live on 16thMarch.https://www.koolcovidkids.org/

You can also get creative and enter our competition to either design a book cover for their very own COVID super hero (suitable for EYFS, KS1 & KS2) or write a short story (no more than 500 words) about their own superhero, someone who has helped during the COVID-19 Pandemic (suitable for KS2).  We have been donated some fantastic prizes from Hills books and other local authors.  Closing date: 30th April 2021.  See our website for further details: https://primarybusinesspartnership.zupe.uk/crl/its-world-book-day/
