KAEFER launch the “Love Where You Live” poster competition for primary school children
KAEFER have launched the “Love Where You Live” poster competition for children across the primary school of Copeland and Allerdale in a bid to collect decoration for a temporary wall in the Sellafield main site canteen as part of a large project that the company are working on.
Being one of the busiest buildings on site, one of our employees working on the project, Paul Paterson, had the idea of getting local children to design posters to decorate the hoarding; over the duration of the project, this decoration will be viewed by hundreds of staff and employees on the Sellafield site.
This competition being launched with the agreement of Sellafield Ltd and is in collaboration with the Primary Business Partnership who work with schools to support children’s access to career related learning across Cumbria and help schools and businesses make greater connections.
Elizabeth Atkinson, KAEFER’s Social Impact Manager said “We were originally going to run the competition during the summer but due to the current situation, the team thought it would be good to run virtually and offer a different activity for children to do during their home schooling.
The brief is to design an A4 poster which shows why you love where you live – whether it be something you see on your daily exercise, your favourite thing about your town or village, what you love about the local area or a place you’ve visited locally. We want entrants to be imaginative using whatever medium they like – the possibilities are endless!
There are 3 categories: Reception to Year 2, Year 3 and 4, and Year 5 and 6 with prizes for the winner and runner up of each category, as well as a prize for the winners’ schools.
A digital copy or photo of your entry should be sent to schools.engagement@kaefer.com by Sunday 31st May, making sure to include your name, school and year group. Make sure to keep hold of the original poster as collection will be arranged. Good Luck!
