SUPPORTING CAREER RELATED LEARNING TO ALL PRIMARY SCHOOLS IN WEST CUMBRIA

It’s World Book Day!

Grab yourself a book for the adventure of a lifetime…

We know you’ll all be celebrating the love of reading by getting dressed up as your favourite characters, why not practise your own writing and drawing skills and see if you can be in with a chance of wining a goodie bag of books too?

This is a fantastic activity that can be done in the classroom or at home.

All you have to do is:

Write a short story (no more than 500 words) about your own superhero, someone who has helped during the COVID-19 Pandemic – KS2

Here’s some ideas to think about;

During 2020 and in to 2021, who has helped us?

Is there anyone who has helped you, your family, your older relatives, your neighbours or anyone else?

What did they do? How did they help?

OR

Design your own book cover – EYFS, KS1 &KS2

All books need to have a cover to make people want to read them – they need to share with the world what the book is about inside – is it a fairy tale, an exciting action story or an adventure?

For more information and other great resources to help you with the competition take a look at National Careers Week who have put together FREE Resources HERE

Send entries to info@pbp.org.uk  for a chance to win a goody bag kindly donated from Hills Books and other signed copies of children’s books donated by the authors.

Pick up other tips and inspiration from our volunteers who have shared their stories about working in the world of words!
