This month, Tori, from Honister Slate Mine headed down to Borrowdale School to spend time with the pupils at their After-School Enterprise Club.
The children have been producing postcards that they hope to market and sell locally. Tori popped in to give some real insights into what it means to be enterprising in the World of work, sharing her own career story and talking about enterprise at Honister.
“I had a great time and the pupils were lovely, some encouraging stars with good aspirations and entrepreneurs of the future”
Gill Crossley, a teacher, who runs the Enterprise Club at Borrowdale School explained,
“We loved Tori’s message – ‘Dream big and when you’ve done that dream even bigger'”
The children have worked so hard and been so committed to their after-school club it’s brilliant that a local business can get involved and help forge the link between education and business and inspire the children. Thanks to all those involved.
