Last week volunteers from the NHS, Smurfit Kappa and AS Designs went to St Bridget’s CofE Primary School to help the children to think and talk about their futures.
The volunteers shared their stories, played games and explained how some of their previous work and experiences have led them to where they are now. Roger from Smurfit Kappa was born in India and he talked about his love of History to finally ending up as an accountant in West Cumbria. Hannah showed the children her Portfolio and explained how her love of art has helped her get a job with local company AS Designs designing logos and signs.
Laura used to be a nurse and now teaches Life Saving for the NHS. She explained the skills needed to become a nurse and also brought along her life saving training mannequins to show the children how to save a life. All the children enjoyed having a go.
The children learnt about all the different opportunities available to them in West Cumbria and around the World. The world really is their Oyster and we want to encourage the children to DREAM BIG.
